East Austin Writing Project
Walter Hill is a poet, game developer by day, and he is always listening. His work has been published in Touchstone Literary Magazine, Oroboro Lit Journal, and APIARY Magazine. Raised in Bowie, MD, he resides in Austin, TX where he facilitates workshops with the East Austin Writing Project. He finds the right words moving amongst the changing city, dancing to music, and helping others.
Marissa Anne Ayala is a writer, researcher and artist in Austin, TX. Her work has appeared in New Media and Sound Summit by COTFG, Poets of Queens Anthology, Fugue, Pen + Brush Literary Magazine, Pen + Brush Art Gallery, Tupelo Press, & more. Marissa was featured in Poets & Writers magazine. She is the founder of the the East Austin Writing Project.
She earned a BA in Writing and Literature from Naropa University and an MFA in Fiction from the New School.
Emily May is an essayist and visual artist based in Austin, Texas. Emily’s work is centered around class, education, pop culture, feminism, late capitalism, and opportunity. Her writing has been published in Cagibi Lit, Entropy, espnW, and other venues. Emily's collection of essays Some Girls was shortlisted by Galileo Press, who will publish her first book in 2024.
Leanna Petronella’s debut poetry collection, The Imaginary Age, won the 2018 Pleiades Press Editors Prize. Her poetry appears widely in publications such as Beloit Poetry Journal, Third Coast, Birmingham Poetry Review, CutBank, and Quarterly West. Her nonfiction appears in Brevity, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Fugue, and other publications.
She holds a PhD in English and Creative Writing from the University of Missouri and an MFA from the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas.
